Background

Baja SAE is a collegiate competition in which students design, build and race an off-road vehicle. I am a club member and contributor to Gonzaga's Baja car.

Fabrication

I machine and fabricate components for the competition vehicle, using the same shop processes I use at the Herak Manufacturing Technology Center.

  • Mounting brackets
  • A-arm plugs
  • Coped frame tubes

I troubleshoot assembly problems with the team and support the iterative design changes that result from them.

Training

I train new members from observation through to hands-on fabrication work. Member retention increased 50% year over year.
